Explanation

In the field of office organisation there are constant investigations into the supplying a company or organisation with products that are not harmful to the environment, but are easy to use. Research into innovative products leads to the finding of products that meet daily needs based on raw materials or plant products.

The Dutch company Avantium creates plastic bottles for drinking water by turning seaweed sugars into macromolecules. Using HIS technology, plant-based sugar is converted into FDCA, which is the key element in the creation of PEF (polyethylene furanoate). PEF is herbal, recyclable plastic, which is not based on oil like the ones we use today.
