- Green databases are intended to provide information on companies whose activities, products or services contribute to reducing negative environmental impacts. The objective is to support local economy and minimise the environmental impact.
Green Value indicator
Depending on the nature of the specific service – it can be calculated in segments.Explanation
Implementing regulatory requirements and adapting to changes and following environmental policies imposes obligations on companies to continuously improve environmental management and energy management. As a result, companies are under increasing pressure to use natural resources more efficiently and responsibly, thus contributing to sustainable production and consumption. Maintaining competitiveness and following environmental policies not only imposes an obligation on companies to reduce costs and work towards sustainable development, but also offers them new, innovative business opportunities.
Green databases contain a set of companies that, according to their activities, have received environmental awards, the international environmental certificate ISO 14001 or in relation to the environment act in accordance with the globally recognised voluntary scheme EMAS, or initiatives (POR). The efficiency of energy management is proven by companies on the basis of verification according to the requirements of the ISO 50001 standard, previously SIST EN 16001, or by receiving the appropriate certificate.
Products and services should meet stricter environmental requirements - taking into account the entire life cycle, thus less impact on the environment, which is confirmed by receiving an eco-label (Ecolabel). The most effective innovative approaches of environmentally conscious companies are reflected in eco-innovation.
